Terms
Terms of Use
These draft terms describe the intended DNA_CHECKS beta service.
Payments and live DNA processing are not enabled yet. Final trader identity, cancellation/refund wording and statutory consumer information must be reviewed and completed before charges are taken.
The service
What DNA_CHECKS provides
DNA_CHECKS analyses supported raw DNA data and produces an informational personal-genetics report.
AncestryDNA-style raw SNP-array data.
Origins & History, Genetic Curiosities, Important Clinical Findings, Medication & Pharmacogenomics and supporting evidence sections.
Features, provider support, evidence sources and report presentation may evolve.
DNA_CHECKS does not collect biological samples and does not sequence DNA.
Using DNA_CHECKS
User responsibilities
The person submitting a DNA file is responsible for having the right to request the analysis.
Authority to submit the fileDo not upload genetic data you are not authorised to use.+
Users must only submit a DNA file where they are entitled to request the analysis. The initial beta should not be used to secretly analyse another person's genetic data.
Supported filesUnsupported or malformed input may be rejected.+
DNA_CHECKS may refuse or stop processing where a file is unsupported, incomplete, malformed, corrupted or otherwise unsuitable for reliable analysis.
Lawful useDo not use the service for unlawful, deceptive or abusive purposes.+
Users must not attempt to interfere with the service, bypass security controls, upload malicious content or use DNA_CHECKS in a way that infringes another person's rights.
Health & pharmacogenomics
Screening information, not a diagnosis or prescription
Some report sections can contain clinically important or medication-related genetic evidence.
Clinical limitation
Consumer DNA data can be incomplete or require confirmation.
Important clinical findings may need confirmation using an appropriate clinical-grade test before they are used in healthcare decisions.
Payment
£3 beta report, no subscription
The intended beta model is a small one-off fee for the requested report.
Before payment is enabled, DNA_CHECKS must publish the required trader identity and pre-contract information, confirm the applicable cancellation rules for a report that begins processing immediately, and finalise the refund process for failed or unfulfilled jobs.
Reports & availability
What a beta report can and cannot guarantee
The report depends on the uploaded genotype coverage, current scientific sources and the version of the DNA_CHECKS pipeline used at the time.
Not every possible genetic finding is coveredSNP arrays measure selected positions rather than the complete genome.+
DNA_CHECKS cannot report evidence that is not present or sufficiently covered in the uploaded data. A report should not be interpreted as an exhaustive assessment of all genetic disease, medication or ancestry information.
Scientific knowledge changesFuture database or pipeline versions may produce different context.+
A report reflects the evidence sources and software version used at generation time. Re-analysis later may change prioritisation, wording or available findings.
Temporary deliveryGenerated reports are not intended to remain hosted indefinitely.+
Users should save their report during the stated delivery window. The final expiry period will be published before the live beta begins.
